Maintenance Of Forklift Scales

Routine maintenance includes regularly wiping the scale platform with a damp cloth to remove dust, oil, and debris, and keeping the load cell area clean to prevent foreign objects from jamming the scale and affecting weighing accuracy. Do not leave heavy loads on the scale when it is not in use. Check weekly for loose mounting bolts connecting the scale to the forklift and inspect sensor cables for signs of aging or breakage; tighten or replace components promptly if issues are found. When the scale will not be used for an extended period, disconnect the power or remove the battery and store the unit in a dry, well-ventilated indoor area, avoiding outdoor storage or direct sunlight. Strictly avoid using the forklift scale merely as a standard transport vehicle; prevent overloading and impact loads.

Battery maintenance guidelines: Charge the battery immediately when the weighing indicator displays a low-voltage warning to ensure battery longevity. The first three charges require 10–12 hours to fully activate the battery, while subsequent charges require only 4–6 hours. Use a 220V AC power source for charging. Battery damage can impair the forklift's normal operation and the stability of the weighing indicator.

To ensure weighing accuracy, regular calibration is recommended-ideally every three months, or monthly for units subject to frequent use. Recalibration is also necessary after long periods of inactivity or after moving the equipment. Perform calibration procedures in accordance with the product manual.
