1. Standard Power Button Method
The most common way to turn on a commercial electronic scale is via a physical power button - a process as simple as unlocking a smartphone:
- Locate the round or square physical button on the side or bottom of the scale (usually marked with a power symbol).
- Press and hold the button for 2–3 seconds until the display lights up.
- Some models will emit a "beep" to indicate startup is complete.
Tip: If the button isn't immediately visible, run your fingers along the edge of the scale to feel for a recessed area. In rainy weather or cold environments, try pressing the button three times in quick succession to clear any potential condensation.
2. Smart Sensor Activation
Newer commercial electronic scales often feature user-friendly automatic wake-up designs:
- Weight-triggered: Automatically turns on when an item is placed on the scale (requires a power connection).
- Motion-sensing: The gravity sensor automatically activates the system when the scale is lifted.
- Light-sensing: Powers on when the dust cover is removed in a well-lit environment.
Note: Before using sensor functions, ensure the protective pads on the scale's feet have been removed. For first-time use, it is recommended to charge the unit for 2 hours to activate the battery.
3. Emergency Startup for Special Situations
If the button fails to respond or the system freezes, try these troubleshooting techniques:
- Button combination restart: Press and hold the "Zero" and "Unit Switch" buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
- Power-off reset: Unplug the power, then gently press the reset hole (approx. 1mm in diameter) with a toothpick.
- Battery activation: Remove the back cover, take out the coin-cell battery, let it sit for 10 minutes, and then reinstall it.
Important: Before performing a hardware reset, ensure there are no heavy objects on the scale platform to prevent sensor damage. If the scale still fails to start after multiple attempts, please contact customer support.
