The resistance strain-type load cell operates on the following principle: an elastic body (an elastic element or sensing beam) undergoes elastic deformation when subjected to an external force, causing the resistance strain gauge (the transduction element) bonded to its surface to deform as well. This deformation alters the strain gauge's electrical resistance (increasing or decreasing it). Subsequently, a measurement circuit converts this change in resistance into an electrical signal (voltage or current), thereby completing the process of transforming the external force into an electrical signal.
Thus, the resistance strain gauge, the elastic body, and the detection circuit are essential components of a resistance strain-type load cell.
