Basic operations for the weight indicator include powering on (with automatic zeroing upon startup), manual zeroing, and taring. Upon power-up, the instrument performs a display segment self-test and enters weighing mode once initialization is complete. If the weight on the platform falls within the preset zeroing range at startup, the instrument automatically zeroes the reading; if it exceeds this range, an alarm sounds. In weighing mode, if a deviation occurs while the scale is unloaded but remains within the zeroing range, pressing the [Zero] key resets the display to zero; note that zeroing can only be performed when the stability indicator is illuminated. When the displayed weight is positive and stable, pressing the [Tare] key deducts the current weight as the tare weight, setting the displayed net weight to zero.
Usage and maintenance require attention to routine care and battery handling. Routine maintenance includes regularly checking for loose or broken wiring and ensuring the ground connection is secure; avoiding proximity to heat or vibration sources; maintaining cleanliness in flammable or explosive environments; periodically powering on the unit for checks if it remains unused for extended periods; and avoiding the connection of inductive loads to the same power phase line. Some models support dual AC/DC power operation and feature a built-in 6V/4Ah maintenance-free battery; users must ensure correct polarity when connecting the battery and recharge it promptly when power is low. As the battery is a consumable item, the instrument includes real-time battery level/status monitoring and indication, as well as low-voltage alarms and automatic shutdown protection.
