Precautions for Load Cell Installation

1. Handle load cells with care. This is especially important for low-capacity sensors with aluminum alloy elastic bodies; shocks from vibration or drops can easily cause significant output errors.

2. When designing the loading mechanism and performing the installation, ensure that the line of action of the load coincides with the load cell's force-bearing axis to minimize the effects of inclined or eccentric loads.

3. Regarding leveling: If using a single load cell, adjust the mounting surface of its base using a spirit level until it is horizontal. If multiple sensors are used for simultaneous measurement, their mounting surfaces should be kept as close to the same horizontal plane as possible; this ensures that the load borne by each sensor is essentially uniform.

4. Determine the rated load of the sensor based on the capacity selection guidelines provided in the product manual.

5. To prevent chemical corrosion, apply a layer of Vaseline to the outer surface of the load cell during installation. Avoid using the sensor in locations exposed to direct sunlight or environments with drastic temperature fluctuations.

6. Install a bypass shunt made of braided copper wire across the load cell's loading mechanism.

7. Do not extend the cable yourself; if an extension is absolutely necessary, solder the connection and apply moisture-proof sealant.

8. It is advisable to shield the load cell with a protective cover or baffle. This prevents debris from falling into the moving parts of the sensor and affecting measurement accuracy.

9. Keep the sensor cable away from high-power lines or areas with pulse interference. If this is unavoidable, route the load cell cable through a separate iron conduit and minimize the connection distance.

10. Select the rated load according to the capacity guidelines in the manual. Although load cells possess some inherent overload capacity, such situations should be avoided during installation and use. Even brief overloads can sometimes cause permanent damage to the sensor.

11. For high-precision applications, allow the load cell and the instrument to warm up for 30 minutes before use.
